The Board of Directors for the HEiKA Research Bridges is composed of two principal investigators from both the KIT and the Heidelberg University for each of the six research bridges. Additionally, two young academics have been appointed as advisory members since 2016.
The Board is responsible for guiding the direction and further development of the research bridges, implementing strategic decisions made by the Strategic Board, and promoting joint research activities. This includes establishing new research bridges as deemed necessary.

The Extended Board of Directors is chaired by the Vice Rector Research and Digitalisation of Heidelberg University and the Vice President Transfer and International Affairs of KIT and decides about funding the HEiKA projects.
