Synthetic Biology is understood as the co-action of molecular biology, organic chemistry, engineering science, nano bio technology and information technology.
The focus of the research Bridge Synthetic Biology (SB) is on the development of biologically active substances as well as new bio- and nanomaterials with functionalized surfaces. This task includes new approaches in stem cell research, regeneration biology and tissue production, where new chemical and biological approaches can be used to re-control entire signal paths and activate or inhibit them through small molecules. The topics will also be complemented by modelling and supercomputing.
